The primary challenge of this project involved a thorough redesign of the web service following feedback sessions with both the team and users. This required reconstructing the app from scratch, taking into account the input from the target audience. Additionally, there was a request to adopt a more formal and serious tone, moving away from the initial design's less serious approach.
Getmoni Discover is a leading solution in the realm of crypto social analytics, and it was crucial to include features that would distinguish it from the competition.
Although the previous design was of high visual quality, it lacked essential features that users needed. It only supported a limited range of cryptocurrencies for payment processes and missed several usability features absent in the earlier design. Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain permission from the previous designer to showcase their work on my website, so I will only present my completed product, which will be the focus of this case study.
Adding the requested features was not straightforward. Given that it's a social platform, we incorporated crucial features such as a twitter-handle history to track previous user handles, which helps prevent scam attempts and assess if an account is trustworthy. Another added feature was the ability to access the contract address of a crypto project or token, enabling trading on decentralized exchanges.
Additionally, we integrated the capability to like or dislike projects, which is co-integrated with the Twitter extension. This allowed users to score and evaluate projects directly from Twitter and reflect these scores in the Getmoni Discover app, facilitating deeper research into the types of trustworthy Twitter users following the project. This integration improved decision-making time on a project by 50% and enhanced the research value for the user.
Finally, improvements to the graphs within the app provided users with more detailed information about followers and mentions activity, helping to understand the full picture of the project or user. This depth of detail is particularly valuable for researchers or Alpha hunters—individuals seeking to identify valuable projects at their inception.
The design system had to be built from scratch because the initial design kit did not offer the flexibility required for new features. Furthermore, user feedback indicated a preference for stricter design choices, as users regarded Getmoni Discover as a serious analytics tool. Based on this feedback, I quickly developed a design system based on the FIGR default design system, which many designers use as a foundation for their own systems. As a result, I modified, deleted, and added over 100 elements to tailor the design system to the product's needs and requirements.
Ultimately, I chose Poppins as the main font for this product due to its modern and geometric style, which enhances clarity and readability in complex data displays. Its clean, rounded letterforms deliver information in an accessible yet professional manner, making it ideal for boosting user engagement and ensuring usability.
An additional component of the task was to enhance the existing Twitter integration. This was accomplished by incorporating indicators for trusted and scam accounts, aiding users in distinguishing between posts and avoiding scam links prevalent in the crypto Twitter space. The entire Twitter integration is linked to the Discover product, allowing users to instantly check the social scores and legitimacy of any Twitter account with a single click. Users can also report suspicious accounts to the system, where they are reviewed by administrators and scored accordingly.
This feature alone has helped hundreds of users steer clear of scam accounts on Twitter, saving both time and money by verifying the legitimacy of these accounts. We have received numerous firsthand accounts of how beneficial this feature has been.
Although we have a limited number of responses, it's clear that adding features such as additional payment options has increased user numbers by over 30%, and new design elements have extended the time users spend on a project page by 25%.
Another immeasurable metric is the amount of positive feedback we received after enhancing the Twitter Chrome integration, which has reduced the time users spend researching projects on Twitter, allowing them to make quick decisions about whether they like them.
Overall, I would describe the changes we implemented as overwhelmingly positive, and I'm very pleased to have been a part of this redesign process.
